Restaurant Kjokkenet

Kjokkenet

The comforting ambiance in the kitchen of 'ho mor' (mother), thought the housewife the first time she stood in the empty room. Today, the furnishings complement the space crafted by the carpenters over a hundred years ago. The name became 'Kjokkenet' – the kitchen of every good mother – something that guests appreciate and continually returns to. Here traditional cuisine from northern Norway is served, based on local and locally sourced ingredients. The main building, constructed around 1860, was formerly a fishery that housed a salting facility, fish reception, and barrel factory. Today, the main building has been meticulously renovated and welcomes guests from all corners of the globe.
